5 SONGS YOU SHOULD ADD TO YOUR PLAYLIST: Part 1

HEY! The first thing I want to kick off on this blog is songs I LOVE and want to share with the world! I'm always looking for new music to add to my playlists. One of my favorite things in the world is when I show someone a song, and they add it to their playlist too. Every week I'm going to upload five songs I recently fell in love with! This doesn't mean it is a new release or anything. You may have already heard them, and I hadn't yet. It's just a recommendation that I hope someone reading this will appreciate it! I believe we all need some good music in our lives now with everything going on.

1. BELIEVE IT by Rihanna and PARTYNEXTDOOR

This song was released just a few weeks ago at the end of March. I got a notification from Spotify that Rihanna had a new song. Thank the Lord! She hasn't had a new release since 2016. Even though she only sings the chorus on this track, it still satisfies me until she decides to release her new album.

2. Woo! by Remi Wolf

This song is a feel-good song. I like playing it in the car, in the shower, and more. It was just released. I found it on my favorite Spotify playlist, "Lorem." Remi Wolf's vocals in this song are so strong, but also it is playful and fun. Many articles are saying that this song is joining the movement to rebrand pop music. I would go into detail on what that means, but that is a whole other discussion. The track sounds slightly chaotic but on purpose, to demonstrate what young modern love looks and feels like now. I highly recommend it.

3. homebody by Kamal.

Kamal. is a new artist I've discovered yet again on Spotify's "Lorem" playlist. I really like his sound. His voice is very calming and unique. I think this song could resonate a lot with everyone nowadays. It could be a "quarantine" jam! It's a cool song that highlights introverted feelings of wanting to be left alone. Kamal talks about what it's like being in the comfort of your own thoughts, your own room, and being alone. If you ever feel like you would rather just stay home than go out, but you really have no explanation: this is the song for you.

4. Peach Pit by Peach Pit

This song isn't underground or not noticed at all. It's very well known in the "indie" world, with over 34 million listens on Spotify. However, I recently found it and cannot get enough. I love love love it and the band. This song just reminds me of summer. The guitar in the song is to die for. Its such a fun and playful song but also calm and relaxing to me. If you aren't apart of the 34 million listens, you should be.

5. All Your Love by Jakob Ogawa

Finally, the last song I'll mention for this week is All Your Love. Similar to Peach Pit, this song isn't new or unknown. It has 25 million streams on Spotify and was released in 2017. However, I just discovered it. Some people have described the sound of this track as Indie R&B influenced since that genre has been skyrocketing in the last few years. His soothing vocals blend perfectly with the mellow beat and pop instrumentals. I've been putting it on repeat while I study and blasting it while I'm in the car. Ogawa really just sings about being in love and wanting that person's love so soothingly.

I hope you found some new jams for your playlist and throughly enjoy them!

I'll be back next week with another top 5!
