5 SONGS TO ADD TO YOUR PLAYLIST: Part 3

1. Freezing by BREN JOY

MY SONG OF THE SUMMER! Bren Joy is a R&B artist who sings amazingly. His voice is so mesmerizing to me. The talent just oozes out of him I think. I love pop music, especially pop music that is not on the radio yet (saying that in the most unpretentious way I can). I know so many people that would love and vibe to this song. The melody is almost perfect to me. His vocal range makes the song. The beat is a slow, smooth beat, but the melody and vocals make the song stand out. I feel like everyone should listen to this and definitely add it to your summer playlist. After one listen, you'll have it on repeat like I do currently.

2. For You by girlpuppy

girlpuppy is the up and coming indie artist right now. If you listen to any female indie alternative artists, you'll love girlpuppy. Her most recent song, "For you" is a love song. It's calming. I see myself driving around on back roads during golden hour with my hand out the window, going with the breeze. I imagine an open field and just laying there with this song on repeat. Her voice gives me serotonin and relaxes me along with the amazing instrumentals. I have nothing else to say other than I literally love it. Please support your local indie artist and STREAM "FOR YOU"!

3. iN CODE by LOONY

LOONY is yet another R&B/soul artist. This song took me a minute to fully enjoy. But once I listened to it for a second time, I realized how good it is. I perceive the song as being kind of a love song as well. The lyrics say, "coming home never made sense till I found you," so, I think she's singing about how her life was off track and she's experienced some tough things up until she found this love. I'm not sure, I'm not an expert. However, her voice in this song is amazing and satisfying to my ears. Take a listen!

4. Gimme Love by Joji

If you're on tiktok a lot, then you've heard this song. It's been used in a lot of tiktok videos that include a montage of cool memories, videos with friends and such. I love this song because the beginning and end have a strong contrast. In the beginning, it's a fast song and makes you want to dance. However, halfway through, it switches to a beautiful, soft ballad-like song. It's almost as if Joji wrote two different songs and combined them. I see it as the journey of a relationship, the high "honeymoon period" at first and then falls into a deeper, more serious stage. It's amazingly catchy and beautiful at the same time.

5. Painkiller by Ruel

Believe it or not, Ruel is only 17. He's uniquely talented at such a young age; I cannot wait to see what else he creates. Ruel is just a teenager from Australia who has become sort of a heartthrob. His music displays his talent as well. This song in particular is my favorite of his. I really enjoy the steady beat throughout the song. His vocal range that differs between the verses and chorus add some texture to the song which keeps you listening. I definitely suggest listening to him before he blasts off into his career and is a household name for young girls.
