WHAT MY FAMILY DID FOR EASTER

So, this easter was a weird one thats for sure. Quarantine has got everything on hold, even holidays. My family decided to make the best out of it though.

First, I did the brave thing of going to Wal-Mart. I wore my homemade mask and sanitized my hands multiple times. I was in charge of arts and crafts for our at-home family Easter celebration!

I bought two egg dying kits, acrylic paint, paint brush kit, and obviously, eggs.

On Saturday night, my mom and I prepared to decorate the eggs! To experiment, mom put dye and an egg in some mason jars then put the jars in her InstantPot. It was an experimental way of dying and hard boiling the eggs all at the same time. Sadly, it didn't work too well. The red eggs came out as pink, blue was just a light blue and yellow as nonexistent. From there, we hard boiled the eggs like normal and had multiple jars filled with dye. We sat up our table outside as the perfect easter egg decoration table (as seen on my snapchat story):

Me, my dad, my mom, my brothers (Barrett and Braden) and Braden's girlfriend, Rebekah, sat around the table until dark and painted all the eggs. What made it fun was we made it a competition. For some reason, its hard for my siblings to do anything unless it is somehow competitive. Mom said whoever decorated the best egg would win $25.

Once we ran out of eggs and everyone had decorated at least one, we started the competition.

I used my instagram stories and posted side by side two eggs and set up a poll. My followers had to pick between the two. In the end, whoever had the most votes on their eggs, one.

Here are the eggs and the results:

Rebekah's bunny egg VS My "TPWK" (treat people with kindess" Harry Style's slogan egg

OBVIOUSLY, Rebekah beat me and won by a landslide.

My super cute, adorable, beautiful ice-cream-cone-girl egg VS Braden's minon

I have to give Braden props to his minion, it is cute and for someone with negative amount of artistic ability, I think he did good. He did give me a run for my money though. We were almost tied a couple times!

However, I won. Yes, it was nice bragging to him about it.

Rebekah's BEAUTIFUL, detailed, took-her-almost-an-hour-to-complete floral egg VS Barrett's Angry Bird egg that he cracked

You would think at first, it was always going to be Rebekah's floral egg winning. When I first posted the poll, it was VERY close. It kept switching between angry bird and flowers, back and forth. Eventually and obviously, Rebekah won (again).

My mom's baby chick egg VS Braden's R2D2 Star Wars egg. This one was CLOSE! After a few hours, most of the polls began to lean one way or the other. There was an obvious winner. But this one kept going back and forth to the very last second! Braden's R2D2 won by 6 points barely beating mom!

Finally, we have dad's Spongebob Square-pants eggs and my White Claw egg. This one was a hard one to decide between. Dad's skill and detail in Spongebob is unmatchable. But, I think everyone just enjoys a White Claw more. No laws when you're drinking claws! I won this one.

In the end, Rebekah was the over-all winner. No one was shocked, she is obviously the actually artistic one compared to everyone else. She got the $25 and everyone else cried. Just kidding, but until next year Rebekah-- I will beat you.

I hope everyone had a great Easter holiday and enjoyed their quality time with their family like I did. Even though we couldn't get out and about, it was nice to have time to enjoy something with people I love in the end.
