THE APPS I USE TO EDIT

I'm back! With finals happening at the end of April and moving back to Athens, I've been pretty busy. I lost track of time and realized I have not posted here in a hot minute! So, here I am again.

Recently, I've had a few people ask me what I use to edit my photos or how I make my Instagram stories! To let people know I have a new blog post, I will post an Instagram story. Here is the most recent one for an example:

First of all, to make a "collage" to post on my Instagram story I use Unfold. It's a fee app but you can subscribe to it for more templates to use. It is super easy to use! Just choose what template you want and add the photos! There is also an option to add text which is how I added "LINK IN BIO" which multiple fonts and options to change the color or size. There are also stickers you can add to the photo which is how I added the ink-looking circle around the text. I love this app so much!

I also have started using the photo and video editor, Prequel. Prequel puts super cool filters over your videos or photos. Some filters include a "bling" effect which adds a sparkle to your content (usually shows up better if your photo/video has a lot of white featured). There is also a filter called VHS which makes it look like you filmed on classic film and had it developed for your VHS which is cool since we don't use those anymore. There are many more I love! In the image above I used "Miami" film over my photo which gives it that overall pink vibe. This app also includes in-app purchases for additional filters but it is free in the app store. Here's an example of the prequel filters used on video! It tells you how to get "that" edit you may have seen going around on TikTok/Twitter/Instagram. Credit to meganhomme on tiktok.

Obviously, I use VSCO for my day to day Instagram posts. I love VSCO because you can post your photos on there as well. It's a good outlet to post more photos that you may not want to put on Instagram or Facebook. It has in-app purchases as well to access more filters but the default ones are the best! It's free in the app store.

Recently for Instagram posts, I have started using Tezza. Tezza is a free app but requires in app purchases for additional filters as well. It is used to edit photos and videos. The filters are amazing and are quite different from VSCO filters. So, when I cannot find a filter I like from VSCO, I go to Tezza. You can also add photo edits like "dust" over your photot to give it a vintage, grain vibe. You can also add text over the photo to look like subtitles. I really like this app because it lets me switch up my edits every now and then! I'll add an example below.

From previous posts I have mentioned PicsArt for collages. I use this for instagram stories sometimes as well when I have photos I want to place in a certain way but Unfold does not have a template for me!

Finally, when I make Instagram stories and I need a background photo, I use Pinterest. I'll normally just search whatever vibe I'm looking for. If I'm not sure and just need a basic image, I'll search, "iPhone background photo" and maybe add the specific color. I love Pinterest so much, honestly.

This is an edit I made for Mother's Day Instagram story. I used Tezza to edit the photos (including the text that says "Happy Mother's Day <3", PicsArt to place my photos, and Pinterest for the background.

Hope this helps anyone trying to spice up their posts! Please comment any apps you use that I didn't mention!

P.S: I added a page to my site where it is collages I've made that you can use for free as your background. Message me or comment if you would like a personalized one!
