Week 2!
Here are some suggestions of songs I like that I think you should listen to! Sorry if they aren't your style or if you do not enjoy them, come back next week for another top 5.
1. After Party by Don Toliver
On Don Toliver's new album, this song shines with a dozen of other fantastic songs. I personally found this banger on TikTok. There is currently a dance going around to this song. It's such a good song though. Very catchy. Very fun. Very party-vibe.
2. girl in new york by ROLE MODEL
To counteract the fun song I suggest right before this one, ROLE MODEL gives us a great, calming song. Released in 2017, ROLE MODEL has had a lot more successful songs than this one. Even though its a few years old, I still love listening to it. I like to study to this tune; it's on my "calm" playlists. It's basically about falling in and out of love. He's talking to a "girl in new york" (I'm guessing) that he has a history with. It's a quite nostalgic song. If you listen to the lyrics, its quite sad but overall, a vibe.
3. Imagine U by Omar Apollo
Omar Apollo is one of my favorite artist ever. I found him probably a year ago. Each song he releases he has so much growth from the one before. The lyrics are about wishy-washy-ness of relationships, wishing that certain someone would love you back. However, the words are put over a upbeat R&B melody with a splash of pop/hip-hop. Even if it's not your style, you can't say its not catchy.
4. Window by Still Woozy
Still Woozy is one of my favorite artist as well. I started listening to them about a year or two ago. I LOVE their sound. It's pop music, but with a twist to it. Every song he makes is so fun and addicting. His new song Window is about the feeling of being completely infatuated with someone else. It's fun. It's electrifying. You'll have it on repeat.
5. OK by Wallows
If you don't listen to Wallows yet, well... get to it! You probably know the lead singer from being the star of 13 Reasons Why. Yes, the Netflix show. And yes, he is Clay Jensen. I know Clay Jensen is awful. But, Dylan Minnette completely makes up for it by creating jams like this one. Wallows is THE alternative band nowadays. This song is about the hardships of a relationship. When you're in a relationship and you feel as if you don't deserve to be loved. This song is about picking back up and accepting the love you are receiving and giving it back in return. It's about growth in relationships and even life. Definitely a message the world needs today!
